1. Overview & Privacy Commitment

codingmstr ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how Markdown Editor: PDF & Word handles your data, permissions, and security. By using the app, you agree to the data handling practices described in this document.

2. Information Collection and Storage

A. Document Files and Drafts

All Markdown editing, draft persistence, and document conversion (Markdown to PDF, Word DOCX, and Plain Text) are performed entirely on-device using an embedded pure-Dart document engine. Document contents are stored exclusively in your local device storage or the private app sandbox.

• We never upload your files or draft contents to any remote server.
• We do not require account registration, login credentials, or email addresses to use the app.
• Your conversion history and draft metadata remain exclusively on your phone CPU and local storage.

B. Camera and Gallery Images (OCR Scanner)

The app includes an on-device text scanner (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) that extracts printed or handwritten text from images and converts it into structured Markdown notes:

• Photos taken with your camera or selected from your photo library are processed locally on your device via Google ML Kit Vision APIs.
• Images are never transmitted to our servers or stored remotely.

C. In-App Purchases and Billing Data

If you upgrade to Markdown Editor Pro (via one-time purchase or recurring subscriptions), transactions are processed directly by the Google Play Billing service:

• We do not collect or store your payment details (credit card numbers, bank accounts, or billing addresses).
• All payment processing is governed by the Google Play Privacy Policy.
• We receive only an anonymized transaction token from Google to verify Pro entitlements and restore purchases across your devices.

D. Advertising and Analytics

In the current release, advertisements are disabled for all users. If optional non-personalized ads are enabled in future updates for free-tier users, they will be served via Google AdMob in full compliance with Google Play Families and Data Safety policies. Pro members enjoy a 100% ad-free experience permanently.

3. Device Permissions & Access

The app requests only the minimum permissions necessary to deliver its core document creation and conversion features:

* You can grant or revoke optional permissions (such as Camera) at any time via your device's Settings > Apps > Markdown Editor > Permissions.

4. Third-Party Libraries & Services

The application integrates a minimal set of trusted third-party SDKs:

• Google Play In-App Billing: Manages secure purchase validation and subscription lifecycle. (Google Privacy Policy)
• Google ML Kit (Vision): Provides on-device optical character recognition models. The ML Kit library may contact Google servers periodically to download on-device model updates or transmit standard crash/reliability diagnostics. (ML Kit Terms & Privacy)

5. Data Retention, Control & Deletion

Because all document data is stored locally on your device:

• User Deletion: You can delete individual Markdown notes, drafts, or conversion history entries directly from the app interface at any time.
• Complete Data Wipe: Clearing the app cache/storage or uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored drafts, settings, and conversion records.
• Zero Cloud Residue: Since we never store your documents on remote servers, no residual data remains after local deletion.

6. International Privacy Compliance (GDPR, CCPA & COPPA)

A. GDPR (European Union) & CCPA (California)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to access, export, or delete your personal data. Because our application is strictly offline-first and collects zero personal document data, you maintain 100% continuous ownership and control over your files on your device.

B. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Our app does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. All document processing is local, private, and does not involve online data harvesting.
